The Georgia Beer Wholesalers Association (GBWA) represents the 42 distinct wholesale beer distributors in Georgia. Our wholesalers directly employ nearly 3,000 Georgians. We make a major impact on the state economy through our purchase and operation of trucks, warehouses, computers, and many other capital items. A major goal of the GBWA is to protect and preserve Georgia’s three-tier system which protects the safety, health, and welfare of its citizens, while fostering a healthy inter brand competition within the industry. Founded in 1938, the National Beer Wholesalers Association (NBWA) is a trade association that represents the interests of more than 2,850 licensed, independent beer distributors - with operations located in every state and congressional district across the United States - before government and the public. NBWA works to strengthen the state-based system ( the three-tier system) of alcohol regulation that facilitates an orderly marketplace; creates a transparent and accountable system of alcohol distribution that protects American consumers; and promotes responsibility in the manufacture, distribution, sale and consumption of alcohol. Eagle Rock is a proud leader in its community. ERD invests thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours to assure we are doing our share to be part of the solution to underage drinking and driving while impaired. We are very grassroots oriented and believe doing a few things well can truly make a difference. We are especially proud of our speaker program with Chris Sandy, a convicted felon on (2) counts of vehicular homicide while DUI. He is a dynamic speaker who stresses to our schools and the students the importance of making good choices. To date, he has reached over 12,000 students. As well, ERD works with law enforcement to stop underage drinking via our WE ID program, a program designed to prevent minors from purchasing alcohol at the store level. We are additionally proud of our sponsorship with Safe Ride America, a program involving a safe ride home for driver and vehicle when too much alcohol has been consumed. We focus on special events where alcohol is served as well as key holidays where alcohol plays a significant role.
In addition, we provide our retail accounts point of sale to remind them and their customers to not drink and drive and to sell to only those of legal age. We place advertising in publications with messages reminding parents to be responsible not only with themselves, but with their children too.
Eagle Rock Distributing is a strong supporter of the military. We have adopted Operation One Voice(OOV) as our military non profit of choice. OOV is locally based in Duluth, GA, but serves all Special Operations Forces soldiers throughout the country. Our commitment through employee volunteers, sponsorships, personal and company contributions, transportation, and fund raising efforts has made Eagle Rock a key player in the success of OOV. We are proud to be associated with such a worthy cause. OOV’s mission is supporting the immediate needs of the children and families of Special Operations Forces soldiers killed or seriously wounded in battle in this country’s fight against terroristic threats.
